Joanne O’Brien Sanchez

Joanne O’Brien Sanchez, of Brockton, passed away September 25, 2024 at age of 78.  Beloved wife of the late Henry “Sonny” Sanchez and previously Albert “Chuck” O’Brien. Loving sister of late Majorie Cederholm-Demoing, late Edward Purdy, late Alan Purdy, Lorraine Sweatman and husband Richard, and Ronald Purdy. Loving Aunt of 14 nieces and nephews. Loving great-aunt and great-great aunt of many more. Loving stepmom of Sandra Sanchez, the late Tina McClennan, and the late Nancy Dangora-Walker. Loving step-grandmom to Tom and Ben McClennan, Cassi Dangora and Stephie Dangora-Pereira. Loving step-great-grandmom to Abby Parkinson. They all loved her Christmas attitude and surprises as they still talk about them.

Joanne was a huge Red Sox fan and liked the other Boston sports teams. She was a faithful employee of Franklin Sports as lead bookkeeper for over 50 years. She loved travelling by car with Sonny as he didn’t like flying until later in life. Joanne played darts on all-girls team that liked surprising other teams by “kicking the guys butts”. She enjoyed her DVD collection and James Patterson books.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Currie Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Holbrook, on Friday, October 4^th from 9am-11am followed by a service at 11am.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.  Interment Zion Cemetery in Whitman.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association (diabetes.org/donate), American Cancer Society (donate.cancer.org) or the Alzheimer’s Association (act.alz.org).
