Dennis G. Torpey, Sr.

Dennis G. Torpey, Sr., of Brockton, formerly of Randolph, passed away August 31, 2024, at the age of 68.  Dennis is survived by his children, Dennis Torpey, Jr. and his wife Michelle, Daniel Torpey and his wife Shawna, and Kelly Silva and her husband David; his grandchildren, Aidan, Isla, Roan, Everly, Anna, Nora, and Andrew; his siblings, Kathleen Clapp and her husband Steve, Deborah Joyce, Mary Poirier and her husband Wayne, Christine Tempesta and her husband Daniel, Brian Torpey and his wife Maura; his sister-in-law, Robin; as well as many nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents, James and Claire (Anastasia) Torpey, his brother James Torpey, Jr., and his brother-in-law, Thomas Joyce.

Dennis was a sports enthusiast, with a passion for the Bruins and the Patriots. In his younger years, he played hockey, football, and baseball at Randolph High School and later took great joy in watching his sons play hockey. Dennis had a strong work ethic and a deep dedication to his craft. He was a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 40 and a certified welder.  He continued working well into recent years, genuinely loving his job and looking forward to it every day.

He also had a love for yard work and took great pride in maintaining his lawn and a tidy home. When his children bought their first homes, he found joy in helping them with their own projects. 

Dennis found joy in the simple pleasures of life: a day at White Horse Beach, a great movie, or scratching his tickets. He had a passion for cars, taking pride in cleaning them—particularly his favorites, Corvettes and Cadillacs. His love for music was equally strong, and he never missed an opportunity to take the microphone. Dennis had a great sense of humor and we know he will be missed by all. 

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So.
