John M. Hurley, of Canton, passed away August 31, 2024 at the age of 84.  John is survived by his beloved wife, Alice (Smith) Hurley; his loving daughters, Lisa Zapata and her husband Manuel, Laura Lee Hurley Jackman and her husband Bruce, Erica Ialuna and her husband Pino, Raina Hurley, Keara Hurley, and Neila Hurley  and her partner Paul Roscoe; his cherished grandchildren, Keri Lynne Jackman, Kristyna Schoolcraft, Derek Zapata, and Joseph Ialuna; his great-grandchildren, Brooke, Bradley, Blakely Dee, Gentry Lee, and Ella; and his siblings, William Hurley, Lorraine Lydstone, Barbara Aprille, Joseph Hurley, Elaine Nasuti, Dorothy Scott, and Richard Hurley.  He was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Margaret Hurley, Elizabeth Augenstene, Gerard Hurley, and Robert and Virginia Hurley.

John was the son of William and Margaret (Hallisey) Hurley. He was raised in the Roxbury and Mission Hill neighborhoods of Boston and graduated from Boston Trade School.

John was a US Navy Veteran and a retired plumber from the Plumbers & Gasfitters UA Local 12 in Boston. He worked many years for Harding & Smith and spent time in West Virginia working on the Big Dig. He was also a past Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus – Stoughton Chapter.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Friday, September 6th from 10am-12pm followed by a service at 12pm.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.  Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph.
