Donna G. Grant Ponds

Donna Gayle (Grant) Ponds, a longtime resident of Brockton, passed away at the age of 72 on August 14, 2020 at Sinai Hospital in Stoughton after a brief illness. Donna was born in Melrose in 1948 and grew up in Jamaica Plain. Donna is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years Herbert A. Ponds. Woefully preceded in death by her only son William Ponds. Daughter of the late Robert Grant and Zelda K. (Slade) Grant. Caring sister to Stephen, Patrick, James, Frederick Grant and Carol Duclos, as well as to the late John and Robert Grant. Devoted “Gram” of Zachary Ponds. Warmly remembered by her Goddaughter Angie Waters and many nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws, extended family members and friends. Donna worked for a time as a nursing assistant but was passionate with her position as a wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and homemaker.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Holbrook on Thursday, August 20th from 5-7pm. A private funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Holbrook on Friday, August 21st. Burial will be held at a later date at St. James Cemetery in Whitman.
