Bill started out as a client, and quickly became a friend. We had a tradition that every call, no matter how pressing the issue, would begin with a joke. There were times when the ringing phone could be an annoyance, but when I saw the number was Bill's, it brought a smile to my face.

Someone recently asked what I would want people to say about me after I had passed. I said I hoped people would say: "He was a good guy." Bill was one of the "Good Guys." I will miss him.

My prayers are with his family.

I had the honor and pleasure to work with and learn from Bill for several years at Great American. He had one of the best insurance claims minds of anyone that I ever worked with and collaborating with him on claims strategy was always a highlight of my work days. Bill had a great sense of humor that often helped to reduce the stress involved with some difficult claims. Words cannot express how blessed I feel to have known and worked with Bill for several years. I know that his family was priority #1. My heart and prayers go out to Bill's family and friends and I pray that he is regularly playing 18 holes in Heaven.
