Leroy H. Fernald

Leroy H. Fernald, of Avon, passed away September 27, 2018 at the age of 84. Leroy was born, raised, and educated in Boston and was a resident of Avon for many years. He worked as the Director of Purchasing at Rich Bakery Products for 20 years. Leroy was a member of the DAV in Braintree and was an avid golfer.

Beloved husband of Mary (Drogo) Fernald. Loving father of Leroy H., Jr. (Sue) of Braintree, Keith M. (Elly) of Avon, Glenn S. (Kristen) of Avon, Brett J. (Sharon) of Walpole, Darrin J. of Northborough, and Brian J. (Elizabeth) of Milton. Devoted brother of Virginia Fernald of Dorchester and the late William J. Fernald and Mary J. Mello. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Guardian Center, especially to Martine Morse.

Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Saturday, October 6th at 8:15am followed by a funeral mass at St. Michael’s Church in Avon at 9am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday, October 5th from 4-8pm. Interment at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Avon. Late US Air Force Veteran.

Uncle Roy, I will truly miss you. You introduced me to Spam and Eggs... and you so thoughtfully gave me the Tupperware salt and pepper shakers that reminded me of my mom. You were a very dear man and I loved you so much.
