Irene K. (Downing) Finnell
Irene K. “Ike†(Downing) Finnell, of Milton and Brewster, formerly of Roslindale, passed away June 21, 2017 at the age of 91. Born, raised, and educated in Dorchester, Irene graduated from the Jeremiah E. Burke High School. She enjoyed spending time at her home on Cape Cod and traveling throughout the country and abroad, especially to Ireland. Most of all, Irene loved spending time with her nine grandchildren.
Beloved wife of the late Francis A. Finnell, a former Boston Police detective. Loving mother of Francis J. Finnell, Esq. and his wife Nancy of Randolph, Susan B. Tolman and her husband Steven of Brighton, and William E. Finnell and his wife Michele of Norwood, and the late Mary Louise and Richard J. Finnell. Adoring grandmother of Katherine Finnell-McLaughlin and her husband Ryan, Andrew and Gregory Finnell, Victoria, Steven and Siobhan Tolman, and Melissa, Jonathan and Paul Finnell. Predeceased by her nine brothers and sisters, she is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28) Randolph on Tuesday, June 27th at 9:15am followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church in Randolph at 10am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday, June 26th from 4-8pm. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, W. Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Franciscan Children's, 30 Warren Street, Brighton, MA 02135.

We're going to miss you Irene! Your smiling face would always brighten my day when we would arrive with your 3 little Grandchildren in tow! We created so much more work for you when we arrived to visit you and Fran, and you offered not one complaint!
You loved your time with your children and grand children, what a very special lady you were! Thank you for all you did for us in this life time, it's now your time to rest in the Arms of your Heavenly Father.
