Michael F. McNamara

Michael F. McNamara, 65, of Milton, formerly of Randolph, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on December 22, 2023.

Michael was born September 3, 1958 with many health challenges. He attended St. Coletta Day School in Braintree until the age of 21, and then for many years worked at Greater Randolph Opportunity Workshop, and later at Road to Responsibility in Norwell. Despite his challenges he enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed music, bowling, fishing and many other activities. Michael had a unique sarcastic sense of humor modeled after the Three Stooges that will be sadly missed.

Michael was predeceased by his parents William F. McNamara and Joan C. (O'Meara) McNamara of Randolph. Michael left behind his brother William F. McNamara and his wife Jean of Bourne, his sister Maryann Tauber and husband Wayne of Middleboro, his sister Patricia C. Watts and husband Kevin of Braintree, and his sister Catherine H. Cashman and husband James of Newbury, as well as many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Also left behind are Michael's cherished caretakers and fellow housemates at his Blue Hill Avenue home in Milton. The family would like to extend its sincerest appreciation to the caretakers at Michael's home, who helped to create a safe, loving, and family-like environment.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Wednesday, January 3rd from 8:30-10am followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary Church in Randolph at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Randolph.

In lieu of flowers please send a donation to South Shore ARC, 20 Pond Park Road #113, Hingham, MA 02043, in Memory of Michael McNamara.

Uncle Mike, although I didn’t see you too much throughout my life, every time I did you were the biggest ray of sunshine who was full of light. Your bright aura attracted so many people around you and you are loved by more people than you may know. Dakota and GG were waiting for you at the gates and I can only imagine the smile on her face. You are so deeply missed and as we continue to mourn your loss I envision you and god watching over your loved ones. I know you are in a better place and I will see you in my future.

A ray of sunshine has passed on. I will always remember him with that smile on his face. Michael you have passed onto a better life and I'm sure your parents are happy you have safely arrived back to them. Maryann and the rest of the McNamara family, may you find comfort in the fact that he is with your parents again. I will always remember growing up with him. A special heart and a special man forever lives on in your hearts. Rest well Michael.
