There are special people in our lives who never leave us, even after they’re gone. Queenie is one of those special people to the Sherks. Every time we go by a “Buffalo Gold” machine we will stop and do the special nana hand wave and play for you ❤️ Thank you for loving Em as much as you did! We love you Queenie!

Mrs. Messina was a 2nd mother to me growing up. I spent most of my youth at 67 Stevens Drive and weekends/summers at Newfound.

She was a force of nature, quick-witted and never one to hold back her sharp sense of humor. Her snarky remarks always brought a smile to my face, and her unfiltered honesty was something to be admired. Her wit was a gift, and it's something I'll always remember and miss.

Love your gutzzzz, Mrs. Messina...

To the Messina family, I was blessed to hv spent many years with your family joining in all our fun times at the camp at Newfound Lake. Both your parents were fabulous people just like your entire family. I pray they are resting in peace, being all together again. God Bless, Love Joanne ✝️✝️

John, Laura and the Messina Family,

We are very sorry for the loss of your Mom "Queenie". We have so many nice memories of your Mom at family parties and seeing her at Meg's gigs. I also had a lot of laughs with her and Laura when we went to a craft fair together. Your Mom was "one of a kind". She had a tough side of her who always "told it like it was". But she also was a very loving, funny, caring and smart woman. She will be deeply missed.

Love Alan, Lisa, Nick and Bret

Queenie has been in my life since I was born, practically, watching me and my brother grow up by Newfound Lake each summer. I always enjoyed walking and biking past her house as I was a kid, always peeking around to see who was in her gnome garden (I think she had convinced me that they had moved when we weren’t looking, so I always made sure to try to turn around quickly and catch them moving…never had such luck:) She was always kind to us kids, as her late husband had been, and I remember enjoying thinking about how she and my parents spent wild times when they were younger at parties in Holiday Hill from the stories my parents told us. She was an important part of the community up there, and will be sorely missed.
