Lawrence 'Larry' Doyle

Lawrence “Larry” Doyle, of Holbrook, passed away December 14, 2022 at the age of 86. Born, raised, and residing in South Boston for many years, Larry was a resident of Holbrook for 38 years.

Beloved Husband of the late Catherine Doyle. Loving son of the late Nora (Feeney) and John Doyle. Father of Larry Doyle of Brighton, and the late Michael Doyle and Debbie Dalton. Stepfather of John Jolliemore and wife Patti of Brockton, Norman Jolliemore of Wareham, and Richard Jolliemore and wife Cheryl of Weymouth. Devoted Brother of the late Tommy Mahan, and late Jackie Doyle and Roseanne Cholewinski. Survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Larry was also predeceased by his many dogs that were all his loyal companions.

Larry was a former steel worker and shop worker He loved all things “Southie” and was always happiest at his favorite place, Castle Island. Larry also loved being in his garden, sitting on his back deck with a cup of tea, and listening to Johnny Cash and big bowls of ice cream. Larry was a member of the Holbrook Council of aging for many years and enjoyed the friendships he made there. The family would like to thank The Residence at Penniman Hill (specifically the Reflections Neighborhood) and South Shore Hospital for the loving care he received in his last few months. And a special thanks to his friends in his neighborhood in Holbrook that always watched out for him.

Funeral from the Hurley Currie Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Holbrook on Thursday, December 22nd at 9:45am followed by a funeral mass at St. Joseph Church in Holbrook at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, December 21st from 4-7pm. Interment Union Cemetery, Holbrook. In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association via alz.org.

We are thinking of all of you and hoping the memories can bring you some peace at this difficult time. We loved Larry's visit in our yard and most of all his stories and jokes. It was such a joy to have him as a friend.
