Joan M. (Connelly) Klimas

Joan M. (Connelly) Klimas, 85, of Avon died peacefully with her loving family by her side on 9/27/2022 following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert M. Klimas for 48 years. She was born June 19, 1937 in Jamaica Plain, the daughter of the late John J. and Margaret (Macdonald) Connelly. She was raised and educated in Boston schools and worked as an advertising secretary for Westinghouse in Brookline before moving to Avon in 1963.
She treasured spending time with her children and grandchildren and always being there for them. Spending time with them was always filled with laughter and fun. She also loved going to Foxwoods with the late Viola Urbano and friends and enjoyed going on trips with her family. Joan was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Joan is survived by her children, Robert M. Klimas Jr. and his wife Anna of Bridgewater, Loriann Norcross and her husband Brian of Limestone, Maine, Joan Poulin and her husband John of Raynham, Cheryl Urbano and her husband Bruce of Raynham, Linda Butts and her husband Glenn of Raynham her loving 13 grandchildren, her late grandson Robert Michael Cadigan, 4 great grandchildren and her brother David Connelly of Dennis. Predeceased by her brothers Robert Connelly of Jamaica Plain, John Connelly of Dedham and Edward Connelly of Westwood.

Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Hurley Funeral home 134 South Main Street, Randolph on Friday September 30, 4-7 pm Funeral mass Saturday Oct 1, St Michael Church, Avon at 10 am. Interment St Michael’s Cemetery
In lieu of flowers donations in Joan’s name can be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Aunt Joan will be sorely missed. I have many fond memories of our two families vacationing in Maine and sharing holidays together. Joan was always friendly and had a smile on her face. We will miss her.
