Kenrick W. Clifton
Kenrick W. Clifton Esq. of Randolph, formerly of Sandy Point, St. Kitts, passed away on April 21, 2022 at the age of 61. He was the beloved husband of Karen Haynes-Clifton, and a very loving father to his children, and devoted sibling to his sisters and brothers. He is survived by many loving family members and dear friends. Kenrick was an active member of the Randolph Town Council, and a passionate supporter of the Peoples Action Movement in St. Kitts. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary Parish, 211 North Main Street, Randolph, MA. I would like to extend My Deepest Condolences to the Clifton Family. I am the Code Enforcement Officer for the Town of Randolph. He is a Great Man who truly became a friend and support system whenever I needed it. I worked with him and his Constituents when they needed help. His presence will be missed coming into the office to say Hello and to see how everything was going along in the Town. He really Loved this Town. I am still in disbelief that he has transition. The only solace I can offer is that God needed another flower for his garden and picked the brightest one that day. May you find comfort and peace and my prayers are with you all.

I first met Ken Clifton several years ago -- he was the Town Council President when I first encountered the Town Council. He has ever since then defined for me what a Town Council President should be -- poised, attentive, and deliberative.
A few years later we were together at an early Ayanna Pressley rally. Some people from Cambridge (also in Ayanna's district) joined us at the West End Grill, and one of my old buddies from my Cambridge days said: "Oh, Jess, I'd heard you got married; are you going to return to Cambridge?" Ken responded, "No, Jesse is one of us now," and from that moment forward I felt it was true.
A few days before Ken passed, I called him about some park work I'm doing in South Randolph. "I wanted to discuss this with you since it's in your district, not mine," I said. But Ken responded, "We all represent all of Randolph." Maybe that's not the most profound line, but it turned out to be the last line Ken ever said to me, so I'll remember it forever.

Kenrick was one of the "good guys" always looking out for his constituents and town residents. He had the pulse of the town always working to benefit all residents, most especially when Covid struck. No one will be able to fill his Town Council seat.
I am indebted to him for all his generosity, mentoring and thoughtfulness. He's with the angels now watching down on us, making sure we continue to do our best. He will be with me in spirit.

I was shocked to find his obituary on the Town's website today. I never met Councilman Clifton in person, but he became very familiar to me from watching the Town council meetings on Facebook. I met Ken many years ago when the Tabernacle of Praise Church started doing an annual dinner for Seniors in the Randolph and surrounding communities. Ken was an avid supporter and resource getting me the needed information; he did not miss a Senior Dinner and he always brought along others from the constituent. When COVID hit and we decided to do a fruit drive for the senior home, Ken was there with us at 7:00am delivery fruits. During our time in law school you lead by example in all that you engaged in. You took me under your loving wings and guided me as a big brother should. You were patient with my ignorance as you taught me the importance of understanding that difference is strength. My brother, I thank you for sharing your gifts not just with me but with the entire year group. You were our senior but you never for a moment made us feel as if learning from you was anything but a pleasure. On Friday evenings you and I would sit in the library writing essays , debating local, national and international issues or just talking about the value of family, all the time finding a joke or two to keep the mood going.You opened the door of your home to me and with your wonderful wife and friend, shared whatever you had with me.
