Peter L. Gobel
Peter Lee Gobel, age 75, of Avon, MA, passed away on November 21, 2021, of a heart attack.
Peter was born in September 1946 in New York. He was a lifelong learner and had recently graduated from Suffolk University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
Peter found his passion for training dogs, and their owners, later in life and was known as an excellent trainer. He shared this talent with friends at Randolph Animal Hospital where he volunteered every Sunday to train dog owners and worked with dogs that had not yet been adopted to help them find forever homes. He appreciated spreading his knowledge of positive behavioral reinforcement at the local community college and Worcester Animal Rescue League as well.
Peter was an Air Force Veteran and found community as an active member of Randolph Amvets 51 where he served as a financial officer.
Peter is survived by his son Abraham Gobel (fiancée Jennessa Piccirilli), his daughter Simone Boe (husband Scott Boe), grandchildren Scotty and Evan Boe, and his beautiful rescue dog, Doobie. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Renee Gobel and his brother Kenneth Gobel. He is also survived by many close friends who were so important in Peter’s life including Lisa Buckley.
The family will hold a celebration of Peter’s life in the summer of 2022. Information will be posted on Peter’s Facebook page and shared with Randolph Amvets 51, Randolph Animal Hospital, and Worcester Animal Rescue League.
