Stephen I. Devine

Stephen Ignatius Devine passed on at 1:44 pm on November 27 at age 66. Born in Boston on July 16, 1955 to the late John B. Devine and Alice Devine, both of Randolph, MA. He graduated from Xavarian Brothers High school and worked for 25 years as an employee of The Boston Globe in Teamsters Union 25.

Stephen was a lifetime member at the South Boston Yacht Club. He enjoyed boating, riding his motorcycle, and getting to know anyone who crossed his path. He was also the owner of a successful window business ‘Devine Window’.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Genevieve Devine; brother, John Devine and wife Paula; and sisters, Christine (Devine) Bailey and husband Steven; and Janice (Devine) Lincoln; as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on, Saturday, December 4th at 9:15am followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church in Randolph at 10am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 3rd from 4-7pm. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephen’s memory can be made to the American Heart Association.

To the Bailey/ Devine Families-
Butch and I send our deepest condolences for the loss of your brother Steve. It makes no sense to us but we have to have faith that God has great plans for him in heaven. May you find peace knowing he is now surrounded by the love from your Mom and Dad and other loved ones who have passed before.

I worked with Steve at the Boston Globe. He was so proud of his family. He talked about Maine, and his daught in Hawaii.
I am sorry to hear about his passing. I will miss him.

Gen, I'm so sorry to hear about this. I have fond memories of Steve when he and I moved you and Jess in and out of college. He and I talked quite a lot in the past year or so. He loved you dearly and would always fill me in on your whereabouts. I will miss our phone calls. He was a nice friend that I will miss very much. Rest in Peace Steve. Smooth Sailing now my friend.

Steve was a great guy. I’ll always remember him being funny and making us laugh!!
Also a good hearted person who I know will be missed by everyone who knew him!
