George 'Curt' Pollard

George “Curt” Pollard, of Braintree, passed away after a brief illness November 7, 2021 at the age of 84. Born in Richmond, VA, George was the son of the late John C. and Ann E. (Hogg) Pollard. George proudly served in the US Navy, retiring at the rank of AO1 after serving from January of 1955 to May of 1974. He served honorably in many assignments, including tours on 4 different aircraft carriers, and he was a Vietnam War Veteran.

George leaves behind his wife of 47 years Georgine “Albee” Pollard; his son and daughter-in-law Scott and Bobbi Pollard of Jacksonville, FL; his daughter Susan Smith of Jacksonville, FL; his daughter and son-in-law Charlene and Michael Harrington of North Attleboro, MA; his daughter and son-in-law Susan and Charles Thrower of Nashua, NH; and his son and daughter-in-law Mark and Maureen Gaudreau of Mashpee, MA. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and his beloved dog, Brandy. He was a dog-lover and adopted many dogs over the years.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Holbrook on Thursday, November 11th from 4-7pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment MA National Cemetery, Bourne on Tuesday, November 16th at 10:30am. Please arrive by 10:20am. Late US Navy Veteran. In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s memory can be made to your local VFW Post.
