Randy A. Govan

Randy A. Govan who was affectionately known as King Randy, aka Rizz. Randy was born September 6, 1983 in Boston to Harry Gomes and Suzanne Govan. He leaves to mourn Harry Gomes, Suzanne Govan, Tyree Govan and Harrison Porter-Gomes. Who was King Randy aka Rizz? He was a son, brother, nephew, uncle and godfather and a believer in family. He was educated in Boston public school system and graduated from Hyde Park High School. He pursued his career in financing in banking then Randy always was reaching for higher goals. With that persistence he bought his first home in Randolph and he achieved his goal in becoming a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Bjorkman industrial power corporation and that was not enough for Randy. He became his own entrepreneur making a clothing line named “go life smokers” Govan tees. In Randy’s spare time he would travel the world with family. Randy lived his life to the fullest and loved adventure. Unfortunate demise, Randy was diagnosed with A rare genetic disease called Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), both forms adult and child version which made him in an exceptional individual. In 2018 his ALD became progressive after an accident. Surpassing expectations being the fighter that Randy is, reaching a milestone of his goal of survival rate in 2019, once again in March 2021 Randy exceeded expectations of two weeks and lasted 6 months because of the good quality care since 2019 of beloved caregiver Linda aka Miss Mini and Suzanne (mom) part of Randy’s life. Randy started to decline in September but he was determined to see it through for family until September 26, 2021 at 10:50 pm, where Suzanne Govan, Harry Gomes and Linda Hardemon were there with him during his crossover to his next journey. We thank all the love and support from extended family and friends.

I am an aunt on his father's side. I used to babysit Randy when he was little. He was such a determined person then. I didn't get to spend much time with him as he was growing up as he was always traveling and so was I. Later on in life we reconnected and when I came to Boston, I would try to see him.
He was a free spirit who did what he wanted. He did live his life to the fullest. I will miss his smile and quick wit. He was truly blessed. RIP my nephew, all is well.
