Father Vinnie will always be in my heart and in the hearts of my two children, Will and Carli. He is the priest who presided over their First Communion in January 31, 2015. A photograph of him embracing my two children on the altar of Our Lady of Sorrows Church will always remain in our home. He taught me so much about forgiveness on the heels of my challenging divorce. He welcomed us into the Catholic Church here in Sharon during such a terrible time in our lives bringing beauty, peace and compassion to our very beings. I am eternally grateful for the beauty and compassion he brought to my little family. His teachings serve as the Catholic foundation that my children will carry with them for the rest of their lives. Father Vinnie will never, ever be forgotten.
God bless Father Vinnie.
May the Lord be with his precious family during this challenging time of his transition to heaven.
With much love and gratitude,
Dr. Diana Perry, Will and Carli Gilson

I can only imagine the peace that has come to Father Vinny now that he is home with our GOD. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of loved ones left behind, especially his wonderful sister, Eileen. She spoke so highly of Brother Vinny that at times I felt like I knew him. Fr. Vinnie was my high school (Matignon) Chaplin. He actually was one of the chaperones for my senior class trip to Florida. I remember we all went out to dinner one night and the waitress for our table just looked at all of us kids and asked him “which one is yours?” He answered her, with a smile on his face saying, “They all are.” He was a great person, with a loving and caring personality. I hope he rests in eternal peace with the angels.

OMG. What a lovely priest. He went to Blessed Sacrament School with my brother John and they shared the same birthday! John had passed away in a car accident in 1977.
Fr. Vinnie was much too young to have left us. I'm sure that God will have him working in our best interest from Heaven! He will be truly missed by all! RIP Fr. Vincent The Roddy and Shea Families

We knew Fr. Vinnie as our pastor at St. Joseph's Church in Quincy. He took over at a very tumultuous time and soon became loved by everyone. What I remember most about him occurred in 2012 when my mom passed away. My sisters and I were concerned because Mom's parish was in a state of transition, and we knew that visiting priests were being assigned for funeral Masses there. When I asked Father Vinnie if he could say her Mass, he agreed. He not only celebrated her Mass on what should have been his day off, but he also led the rosary at the wake and presided at the cemetery. A true act of kindness that will not be forgotten.
