Benedict C. Menezes

Benedict C. Menezes, of Randolph, formerly of Dorchester, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 18th, 2021 at the age of 76.

Born and raised in Moodubelle, India, he was the son of the late Simon and Delphine (Machado), of India, and stepson of the late Sobina Menezes, of New York. Loving husband to Myrna (Jaylo) and to the late Benedicta (Noronha), both of Randolph. Devoted father to Clarita Gulati and her husband, Amit, of Sharon and Juliet Malone and her husband, James of Whitman. Proudest grandfather to his grandson,Nathan. He was also the loving brother to the late Francis, Gilbert, Thomas, and Rosy Menezes. His loving siblings also include, Sheri Pinto, Gregory Menezes, Lidwin Fernandes, Ignatius Menezes, Veronica Mathias, Theresa Dante, Irene D'Silva, Mercine Lasrado, Gracey Rodrigues, Valerian & Clara Menezes. Loving cousin to Lucy Andrade and the late Ovin Andrade, of Norwood and loving in-law to Felix Noronha and his wife, Latitia, of Randolph. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ben came to the United States in 1970 where he attended school and became certified as a medical laboratory technologist, for which he worked as for 45 years. He continued to work right up until his passing saying, "If I retire, I'll just get old." Benedict was a quiet man but had such a zest for life. His hobbies included gardening, cooking, hunting, fishing, beekeeping, fishing, shopping and fine dining with his wife, Myrna. He was always best dressed and a fashion enthusiast. He enjoyed traveling especially family trips to the White Mountains of NH.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Sunday, February 21st from 1-4pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A private funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 22nd at St. Mary’s Church in Randolph followed by a burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph at 11am. All are welcome to attend the burial. Covid-19 precautions will be in place.
