Margaret T. (Morison) Donga

Margaret T. (Morison) Donga, of Holbrook, lovingly called Midge by her husband Edward, drifted peacefully away to be with the Lord on February 2, 2021. She was born in Boston in 1934, raised in South Boston then moved to Holbrook in 1964.

Margaret traveled the world with Edward and brought her family a piece of every country they visited. She made every holiday and special occasion a huge family celebration, but the greatest gift she gave us was being a wife, mother and Grammy to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Margaret was an active member of the Castle Island Association for many years. She educated thousands of visitors on the historical importance of the Fort Independence and the city of Boston.

Edward and Margaret were married for 64 years and raised 6 children through laughter and tears. She was the epitome of beauty, grace, and love.

Margaret was a lifelong catholic and friend to all her animals. She is survived by her husband Edward; her children; Erina & husband Frederick Scheim, Deborah Givens, Cynthia Donga-Jackman, Stephanie Robertson, Edward & wife Lisa Donga II, Matthew Donga; her 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; her surviving sister Jean Devine; and the late Robert, Donald, and William Morison, Rose Perry, Dorothy Coyne, Mary Morison, Rita Morison, Christine Donald, and Erena Meleo. She will be profoundly missed by all.

Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley-Currie Funeral Home, 127 So. Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Holbrook on Wednesday, February 10th from 9am-10am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Covid-19 precautions will be in place. A private mass will follow at St. Joseph’s Church in Holbrook. All are welcome to attend the burial at Union Cemetery in Holbrook at 11:40am to say their goodbyes. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s memory can be made to Rosie’s Place via rosiesplace.org.
