Jonathan E. Caffrey

Jonathan Edward Caffrey, age 49 formerly of Holbrook, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 16 after a brief illness. He was born in South Weymouth on October 8, 1971 to parents Edward H. and Helen L. Caffrey of Holbrook.

Jonathan was a long-time employee of Graybar Electric Company in Taunton where he worked his way up to become Zone Manager. A talented self-taught musician, Jonathan was lead vocalist & bass player for local band Crazy Chester playing throughout Boston & the South Shore in the 1990’s. In addition to listening to a wide variety of music, Jonathan enjoyed cooking, reading, watching Patriots football and collecting vintage action figures. Friends will remember Jonathan for his quick wit & infectious sense of humor.

He is survived by Loretta (Hall), his “Dear” & loving wife of 22 years. He also leaves his parents Edward & Helen Caffrey, sisters & brothers: Jill Stapleton of S. Boston, Erin Hanrahan of Marlborough, Matthew Caffrey of Merrimack, NH, Kimberly Caffrey & Heather Caffrey of Marshfield, Nicole Shipley of Randolph, Edward Caffrey III of Holbrook and Amanda Caffrey of Taunton as well as his aunts, many cousins, nieces & nephews including Jesse, the C-3PO to his R2-D2 & many lifelong friends from Holbrook & Norwood.

A memorial service will be held at Union Cemetery in Holbrook on Saturday, February 6th at 11am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Covid-19 precautions will be in place. in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society via cancer.org.
