Mary K. (Cullinan) Davis

Mary K. (Cullinan) Davis, of Holbrook, formerly of Dorchester passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by her loving family on December 26, 2020 at the age of 90.

Born and raised in St. Matthews parish, Dorchester, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Hannah Cullinan and the devoted sister of the late Peg Hilson. She was a graduate of St. Peter and Paul’s High School in South Boston.

Mary was a strong woman of deep faith who embodied the word love. She was a voracious reader, often reading two or three books a week. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, dancing, gardening, and her favorite large Hershey’s Chocolate bars. She loved her long walks through the neighborhood where she was often greeted by her many friends and neighbors. Her yearly trips to Aruba with her son and daughter were always special and she made many new friends there.

After marrying her late husband Joe she continued to live in St. Matthews parish to raise her family. She was active in the CYO, Sodality, Bazaars, and Variety shows as well as being a CCD teacher for many years. Upon moving to Holbrook she became a devoted parishioner of St. Joseph’s church where she was involved in the R.C.I.A. program.

Mary will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her and please know that you always had a special place in her heart.

To all the Davis Family, we are so very sorry for the loss of one amazing woman. I was so blessed to have met Mary 28 years ago when I became part of the Thayer Ave family. I looked forward to the spring or summer evening when I was outside as she returned from her walk. We could talk in the driveways for hours. She loved to share stories of her children and her grandchildren’s lives. She watched my boys grow and eventually our granddaughter. She was so proud of her family and I can only imagine the loss you feel. You cared for her with such devotion and love and I know she will carry you through this journey ahead. I am such a better person because of Mary Davis. May she Rest In Peace with the love of her life. God Bless Davis Family. You are in my constant thoughts and prayers. Sheila , Bob and family

I, also knew Mary through my mother, Kay Kiley, along with many of the "group". My mother loved Mary and we, as her children, learned to love her also. When my mother passed, I continued to see Mary for many years, and it was like hearing my Mom speak through her. A woman of great faith - I loved talking to her. I am sorry to hear of her passing.
